Day 6 of the 15 day Bonding Period

Aitugan was definitely feeling better today. At one point she crawled clear across the room to play with the other two children who are in our visitation group. She is becoming quite confident in her mobility and again did things today we had not seen previously.

I pulled her up to a stand and on my stomach and she held onto my fingers and steadied herself for several minutes at a time. I could feel all the little muscle corrections in her arms, legs, neck, and back as she teetered and looked around the room, proud of her new vantage point.

The other thing we saw was that she got herself onto her knees and sat straight up with her feet out behind her. How many other seemingly forgettable milestones will we celebrate - thousands no doubt!

Her teeth have really begun to come in and she is no longer drooling to the extent that she was when first we arrived. I think her lower teeth must have just cut through a day or two before we arrived, for now she is much more comfortable with them, though she still chews, gnaws, and sucks, on anything that seems potentially soothing. Luckily, many of the toys that KJ chose to bring for her were designed for just such a time.

We still marvel at her hair and wonder for how long it will continue to grow straight up before gravity and rigidity find there tipping point. Everyday is a new adventure, and though our explorations are limited to two hour packets, we are grateful. By year's end, all of this will be forever in the rear view, and we will all move forward as a complete family (that is until we return to find her a brother!). Take Care.

Hi! I just saw your post to our blog, so of course I had to come check out yours:) She is beautiful! And those eyes!!! Congratulations on your beautiful little girl:) We will be looking forward to meeting her at Kazapalooza this summer!

And thank you for the well wishes on completing our dossier! Almost there! We are hoping to have little Vaughn by Kazapalooza, but I have this funny feeling we will be traveling by then! But, if we haven't traveled yet, we are still going to come to meet all the wonderful Kaz families!

Best wishes for the rest of your bonding period, and court date! We look forward to reading about the rest of your journey!

Hey KJ, I was supposed to let you know about "Bear" Guptil. He is the dog that you removed the sock from on your last (late) night at the clinic. He came in on Sat is was doing great...mom and dad are really happy. Good work. I'm sorry I didn't post that news sooner, but the baby pics keep distracting me...

It's cold and rainy hear in Maine, but it looks like your hearts are staying warm over there.
Love seeing all the new pics and progress.

Oh the changes you've seen! I figured you would have her crawling before you left - didn't expect it already! She's a goer! Glad she is feeling better.

It is such fun to wake up to new photos and experiences every day. Thanks for sharing.
