We Proudly Present
Aitugan Astana Elizabeth Morrison
We had to finalize her new name for court documents that are beginning to be prepared, and thought that this was as good a time as any to announce our intentions for her full name.
Again, I state it as our intention, for until all is finalized by the court, she is not our child to name. I don't mean to make it sound precarious, though I also don't wish to be presumptuous.
As far as how to pronounce her name, Aitugan sounds like: Eye 2 gone with the emphasis on the eye. I can't think of a good way to describe how to pronounce Astana that makes it stand apart from any other way of possibly pronouncing it, so have at it.
Aitugan was the name given to her by her birthparents, and Astana of course is the name of the capital of Kazakhstan where we are presently, and where Aitugan was born on 05 April 07.
Elizabeth is the middle name of both Kjersten and her mother, as well as my older sister and step-mother. As far as the four names, that is something that run's in Kjersten's family, and we found it fitting.
Take Care.

Beautiful name - tells the story of her life by honoring her birth name and place as well as her new mom and dad. AAEM reminds me of AMEN! Aunt Sandy
I am relatively new to your blog but not to the adventure you are experiencing in Astana. We adopted our daughter, Olivia, from Astana, in Aug-Sept 2003 when she was 10 months old. She turns 5 in a couple of weeks. Our agency was MAPS also. Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful photos and narratives. Although we don't know each other, it's amazing to think how we are connected by a city, a country and a people on the other side of the world.
We are waiting for our LOI to adopt from Kazakhstan and have been following your journey for a while. Yours is the one blog I "must" check daily. I love the name you've chosen for your daughter. We, too, are considering a 4-name option much in the same way you have. Aitugan is a beautiful name for a very beautiful little girl. Thanks for letting us share in your adventure!
What a beautiful name! I am partial to it, as the mother of another moon baby! My daughter is Annika Rose Altynai, named for her grandmothers, Anna and Rosemary. Her Kazak name means "Golden Moon."
We use all of her names at different times and we love each of them. Altynai is always her bedtime name.

We adopted from Kazakhstan and also used four names. Each with a special meaning to us as well.
I noticed that you have mentioned Kazapalooza a few times. I am one of the four helping to put it together. I can't wait to meet both of you and your beautiful daughter with the very beautiful and meaningful name!!

Thank you, as I thought, I was totally saying it wrong. I love the names...all 4 of them. She is just precious.
You are such a great photographer! she is really a precious little one , and how special that her name is so special, just like her. :)
She is beautiful - I LOVE all the spit and laughter. You look so happy - it warms my heart. And her full name is just beautiful. Congratulations and thank you for sharing.
