Here is a little more interesting architecture to wind up our tour. The top photo is the Circus stadium. We haven't been inside yet, but will certainly make a trip to the circus before we leave.
The middle two photos are the new "Mega" mall. It just opened several weeks ago and is really quite nice inside with a number of baby stores, a local variant of 'Best Buy' a food court, and something we don't even have in Maine, an unfinished storefront with a big white apple on it. Can it be true!
The bottom Photo is the Aquarium. At first you pay to get into the 'Aquarium' which is actually a cross between Vegas, Epcot, and a small time carnival. From there you pay a whole lot more (12USD) to see the fish. What you get isn't horrible, but it's not much either.

Thanks so much for the comprehensive tour/info on Astana. There is a good chance we will be going to that region, but we still don't know for certain.

I am laying here in my bed in the US dreaming of my daughter and her country. Your words and pictures make it seem so real! Thank you for taking the time to give such a detailed tour of your surroundings. It is nice and helpful for those of us still waiting to get a little glimpse of what is to come.

I am so glad you guys had a chance to visit these places. I researched Astana a few nights before you guys left and saw many of these things. Now when is your trip to the New City part of town?
