Happy First Birthday Nurai

We are so sad to be thousands of miles from you today.  Just days ago we still planned to be with you this morning and to make this your 'Gotcha Day', but much to our dismay, that plan has come and gone. Our new plan has us back in Kazakhstan the morning of 11 Jan to pick you up, with an anticipated arrival back in the US of 16 Jan.

We think of you constantly and miss you dearly.  We made of video of the family singing Happy Birthday to you, and your sister made a birthday card for you at school today that she will give to you when you get home.  Take Care of yourself my little girl.  We love you.

Happy Birthday to you Nurai!

Tell mom and dad that January 16th is a fine USA day. In fact, it was my oldest daughter's USA day will be 6 years apart from yours.

Nurai ... Soooooooooo much love is being sent to you from afar daily / hourly ... and soon ... very soon ... you will be "feeling" all that love in person! Your family ... ALL of them ... immediate and extended ... and many, many, many friends near and far ... have LOTS of love to share ... you'll soon know. And oh how you'll grow and mature in all that love. Oh my GOD that photo is PHENOMENAL and she is a BEAUTY. It is a killer that she isn't home yet. Heart wrenching.

I just realized as I was writing this comment that Jude is EXACTLY 6 months younger than Nurai - to the day! How COOL IS THAT. Wow. I remember wondering who your child would be and trying to guess his/her age, etc. And there you go.

She's a heartbreaker already. Cannot wait to meet her in person. And to see you all as a family of 4. SO MUCH LOVE. Missing you.

Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, and Babies are from...

Your blog page is open - Zoe enters the room.

Zoe: "Tougy's Daddy?" [If you are known for nothing else in your life]
Me: "Yes"
Zoe: "Tougy's other sister?" [How many exactly we are not sure]
Me: "Yes"
Zoe: "She born in Kazakhstan?"

Apparently this is entirely the logical conclusion.

Anyhow, much love from our part of the world to all of you and happy birthday to Nurai. May you all be reunited very soon in the New Year.

[P.S. Not that it means a hell of a lot, but one of our favourite singers is the Turkish/Kurdish chanteuse, Aynur. Love the name!].

Both of your daughters are beautiful....they remind a great deal of our Kaz. stunner adopted at age 7 mos. in 2003. We know have a darling baby boy from Taiwan(adopted at 7 mos. Feb. 2009) to round out our blessed household.

Your blog caught my eye while visiting another and though I'm late coming along, I do wish to follow the remainder of your journey to Nurai and wish you all much luck & continued joys.

We often reflect back on our time in Kaz. and it thrills me to see another Kaz. angel coming home.

Wishing you all the best!!

Lisa
