16 October 2009

We have a date!

We will be heading back to Kazakhstan on October 30th - two weeks from today.

Remarkably, we met Tougy on 01 Nov 2007, and we will meet the second child on 02 Nov 2009. With Tougy, we came back home Christmas Day and so have made that our return target for this journey as well.

We have known for a few days now that our LOI was being processed but did not know when we would be expected to arrive. As of yesterday it was narrowed to somewhere in the last week of October, and this afternoon it became known that we should travel on the 30th to arrive Sunday 01 Nov, which I assume means that we will see children Monday morning.

So now the zany fun begins. The emotions kick up a notch, and the reality of the adoption begins to sink in. I promise to be better about maintaining the blog while we are away. I should think that we will be daily again at the end of the month through the end of the year. Take Care.

We look forward to vicariously experiencing your quest.

We have never been to Shymkent before. We may never get to go there except through you. But we are so excited to be able to tag along with you on your trip there. This is so exciting.

I am so happy to see that you are adopting again! Your blog was one of the first I read when I started the Kaz process. I am now waiting to return to Semey to pick up my 9 month old daughter, Anelya. We are in NH and would love to meet you when you get home and settled! Best of luck to you!

I read your post and was immediatly trasported to August of 2005, when we got the word we were traveling in two weeks. My heart raced, I got goose bumps and I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs "YEAH"! Tougy is so lucky to be able to travel back to the Country of her birth. I wish Mak was able to do that, he has such great questions. Good luck, have fun and we look forward to reading about your adventures each day!

Wow,
Exciting!!!
We already have 2 Kazakh kids (Miel Arman, Aktobe 2005 and Roos Balzahn, Karaganda 2007). Our file for a third adoption is in Almaty. We know since last week that there are still 5 couples before us to travel to Almaty. So we expect to travel again december/january.
Good luck!!!!!!
Winde (we found you through the Belgian couple who was with you in Astana (Heidje, Stefan, Mikiel and Anna-Lina)

Congratulations! I am certain your photography will fill that Shymkent void. Will you stay the entire duration or make it two trips? It appears I will be doing the 3 trips for Almaty.
I thoroughly look forward to your adventure and cross my fingers that the Morrison/Karp clan might actually cross over somewhere??
